It's been a while since I published new work.  Here you go:

Saturday June 18, 2016.

Last weekend's Talbot Street Art Fair was a hot one!  So hot, that I have determined it will be my last outdoor art fair;  I have accordingly cancelled my participation in this years Penrod Art Fair.  While I will no longer be on the outdoor circuit, I still welcome you all at my indoor shows: Indiana Art Fair at the State Museum in February, Indiana Artisan Marketplace in March, Christmas in October at Fishers High School, St. Lukes Holiday Bazaar in Indy in November, Bloomington Glass Guild show in November and the Indiana Artisan Marketplace in Ft. Wayne Thanksgiving weekend.  At age 70, I am beginning to wind down :-)

Penrod Art Fair is only a week away.  This prestigious fair is held on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art and will be from 9-5 on Saturday, September 12.   You can find me in the blue section, booth #10 on the shady side of the grounds!  The closest entrance to my tent is at Michigan Road and 42nd street and the nearest parking is on the grounds of the International School.  I've been working on new designs as well.

May 23, 2015
Exciting news!  I will be in the Penrod Art Fair on the beautiful grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art the Saturday after Labor Day ( September 12).

In the meantime, I'm about take off for a class with the wonderful Holly Cooper at Arrowmont in Gatlinburg for a week, then when I get back I will be doing last minute prep for Talbot Street Art Fair on Sat and Sun June 13 and 14.  Busy Times.

Here are the cutie little leather bangles I've been making; more leather colors should be arriving in the studio soon:-)

And then there are the encased florals, the funky discs, and of course, lots of florals, done in spirals and clusters:

I'm an Indiana Artisan

After several tries, I can finally say that I'm an Indiana Artisan.

 December 11, 2014
Fran,
Congratulations! The Indiana Artisan art jury panel thought your work was exceptional, which probably is no surprise to you. It is now part of the Indiana Artisan brand, and we will use it to demonstrate the fine art and foods coming from Indiana today. At the same time, you can use the Indiana Artisan brand to demonstrate that you have been recognized for being at the top of your craft. This organization was created by the Indiana State Legislature to expand the businesses of individual Hoosier artisans and at the same time leverage their exceptional work in art and food to create a brand that supports it, and is supported by it.

Indiana Artisan admits an artisan’s work, not the artisan, and this confirms your jewelry from your lampwork glass beads may carry the Indiana Artisan logo.
Again, thank you for your interest in this growing statewide family of artisans. I’m looking forward to working with you.
Best regards, Happy Holidays and congratulations!
Eric Freeman

I joined the Artisans Thanksgiving weekend at the Ft. Wayne Grand Wayne Center for the first Holiday Artisan show and am excited to be joining them again Mar. 28-29 at the State Fairgrounds in Indian  But before that you will find me February 13 and 14 at the Indiana State Museum for the Indiana Art Fair, to which I have been invited back for the sixth or seventh year:-)

In the meantime, I am enjoying the holidays and some time off from the studio.  Early January will find me straightening up the studio and playing again with glass.  Here's hoping your holidays have been joyous!
Fran

June 18, 201:
The 2014 show schedule has been updated and is live on my Events page.  There are a few changes this year as I am trying some new shows and dropping a few old friends to mix things up.  I also will be leaving my beloved CCA gallery in Zionsville at the end of July, so the only way to find my jewelry after that time is by email, phone, finding me at a show,  OR, if you are going through Concourse B at the Indianapolis International Airport, you can find a small display of pendants and earrings at the Broadripple Book and Gift shop.

Here's new design I've been playing with, full of filigrana discs and silver coils.  It sold  to my booth neighbor, Cindy Cradler, even before the Talbot Street Art Fair began this year, and I'm playing with more color combos :-)

And here is a dogwood bracelet made with the same interlocking silver coil techniques:

Of course there are still more floral leis on hand:

And some floral clusters:

And some funky drops:

And yes, I'm still making critters too:-)

I will be taking the summer off from shows, but will be back at it with a vengeance starting the weekend after Labor Day, here in Pendleton at the Heritage Fair in Falls Park.  And new shows that I'm really excited to be part of  are the Carmel International Art Fair on the 27th and 28th of September and Studio Showcase at Kate Van Sciver's lovely home at 5914 Stafford Way, Indy.
